Guild alumni - John West to go on tour with the Mel Brooks blockbuster broadway musical -The Producers!

Directed and choreographed by three- time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman based on the Academy Award-winning 1968 film of the same name.

The Producers is the story of down- on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a mousy accountant. Together they hatch the ultimate scam: raise more money than you need for a sure-fire Broadway flop and pocket the difference. Their "sure-fire" theatrical fiasco? None other than the musical - Springtime for Hitler.

The show opens in Columbia, SC on September 25. John plays Carmen Ghia, the "common-law assistant" (flaming boyfriend) of "the worst director in town", Roger DeBris. Carmen was originated by Roger Bart on Broadway, who was nominated for a Tony for the role.

The show comes to Paducah, KY May 29- 31... and the Orpheum in Memphis June 8-10. For more info on the tour and a full schedule, go to
